Biofuel from microalgae
energy that protects the planet
3 REASONS FOR CHOOSING MICROALGAE BIOfuel
Less pollution,
cleaner air
Biofuel or “FAME, Fatty Acid Methyl Ester“ is a renewable form of energy; it doesn’t contain any sulphur or aromatic compunds. Its use contributes to reducing of particulate matter emitted, thanks also to the presence of oxygen in its molecule.
The use of biofuel drastically reduces unburned hydrocarbons and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons; its particulate quality category differs significantly from that resulting from conventional gas oil, with an increase in soluble fraction.
Eco-friendly and clean: biofuel respects nature
Biofuel is an environmentally friendly fuel.
Vegetable oils extracted from algae, rapeseeds, sunflower seeds and soy expecially from European networks are used in its production. The treated oils are converted into ahigh quality and low-polluting fuel.
The most striking feature of biofuel is that of having similar physicochemical properties to gas oil. Biofuel is a very good substitute of gas oil, both in an freebase form and in a mix with gas oil. It currently represents the only renewable fuel substitute of gas oil.
Reduction of greenhouse gases and energy balance
Biofuel is a renewable form of energy, derived from photosynthetic organisms, with a positive energy balance.
During their growth cycle, these organisms use carbon dioxide, making balance with carbon dioxide emitted by the vehicles and creating a virtuous cycle.
The carbon dioxide balance is practically nil, to the total advantage of the environment and climate.
The energy balance is positive: each unit introduced to produce Biofuel returns 2.5 units of energy in combustion.
all the benefits of
biofuel
- Improves the combustion quality,
- Achieves a reduction for fine particulates (PM10) between 20% and 60%,
- Reduces aromatic hydrocarbons emission between 75% and 85%,
- Is completely biodegradable,
- Can be used as a lubricity improver and as gas oil additive.
