From October 19 to 21, Eng. Michael Magri and Dr. Giovanni Antonio Lutzu, respectively CEO and Lab Manager of Teregroup, took part in the 19th edition of the Algae Biomass Organization (ABO) Summit, held at the Arizona State University campus in Tempe, Arizona.
The summit provided an important opportunity for the company to engage with other enterprises and research groups from around the world active in the field of microalgal cultivation. New collaborations were established with universities (in Brazil and Australia), research centers (such as AzCATI, Arizona), and companies, with the aim of enhancing the company’s production capacity — with a special focus on the commercialization of high-value products derived from Spirulina.
At the conclusion of the ABO Summit, participants joined a guided tour of the laboratories and production facilities of AzCATI – the Arizona Center for Algae Technology and Innovation (https://azcati.asu.edu/).
The event also served as an occasion to present the results of a study entirely conducted by Teregroup’s scientific team, in collaboration with the University of Cagliari (Italy) and the University of Valparaíso (Chile), focused on the optimization of Spirulina cultivation from laboratory to industrial scale.
